| What
is the problem?

I think
the problem is that Kiesha calls Jennifer telling her to go to a
chat room. Then Jennifer tells Maria to get off the game and let
her go to the chat room. When they get on the chat room Maria sees
that someone nominated Chris, Maria's friend as the dummest person
of the week. Elvis
I think
the problem is that Maria thinks that the website is wrong because
the people are saying things that are not true.

What
the problem is that Jennifer was talking on the phone with another
friend and her friend tells Jennifer to go to this chat room and
she tells her other friend that's in the room with her to go to
this website that makes fun of people and Maria doesn't know if
she should go to that. Janisel

I think
the problem is that Jennifer is thinking that the chat room is cool,
but Maria doesn't like it because they are talking about one of
her friends, Chris. Sam Mc

I think
the problem is that Maria didn't want to go on the site and Jennifer
did so I think Maria’s conscience was telling her that that
was wrong. Victoria

I think the problem is that who ever wrote the message about Chris
shouldn't write it because you never know if the person that people
are talking about read the message they post and it might hurt the
person’s feelings. Nelsmarie
I think the problem is that Jennifer told Maria to go to a chat
room to gossip about other people but Maria didn’t think the
gossip is funny because it’s hurtful to other people. Saday
The problem is that Jennifer thinks it is really funny what they
write about Chris, but when Maria realizes it's her friend, she
gets really mad but Jennifer says is only a joke. Caroline

I
think that it wasn't nice of Jennifer to just say it's a joke when
it's not! Because Maria said that she didn't feel cool with it.

I
think the problem is that Maria doesn't want to go into the chat
room because she doesn't want to make fun of her friend. Jennifer
is trying to tell her it was just a joke. I don't think it's a joke,
I think it's mean for them to do it. Etel

I don’t
think it would be fun because that to me is not that very nice.
Victoria
What
could Maria have done differenty in this situation?

If I
was Maria then I would tell Chris that people are talking about
her and tell her that I was not a part of it and not to worry because
people will forget about it and people that write those kind of
things aren't good people at all. Kasey

I think
Maria should find out who wrote that message in the chat room and
ask why they wrote it. Mason
If I was in Maria's situation I would suggest we talk about something
else in the chat room and get others to join in our new conversation.
I would want to talk about things that I know are true and would
not hurt anyone's feelings. Elena
It's
rude to have a friend nominated in a public place, like a chat room,
for doing something that maybe is not true. Alina
I think
it's not right to make fun of anyone because it's going to make
that person feel bad. I don't like others to make fun of me! Caitlin

I would
probably tell Jennifer that she shouldn't be on these sites without
permission. Molly

was that person and ask them why did they do that. Janisel

If I
heard a rumor that was about someone who was not my friend then
I would just tell the person who spread it that that was not nice
and that that could hurt their feelings. Victoria
Why
do you think Keisha and Jennifer wanted to be join the web conversation?

I think
this kind of thing goes on because instead of talking about people
in school it's a way of talking about people where they can't find
out about it but they may be able to. It's an anonymous way to talk
behind people's backs. Liam

Kids
do get in chat rooms because they want to talk to their friends
instead of calling them on the phone. A chat room allows me to keep
up with more than one person at a time. It's like a conference call
for kids. Ataliah

Websites
like that chat-room are bad news. They don't talk about real things
just things that are made up! Kasey
What
could any of the kids do to make the situation better?

Hennigan

The solution is to report this to the school
and then try to find who nominated Chris.

If this
was happening outside of school I would IM my friend to tell them
what was happening. If my friend did not have IM I would call them
to let them know what was happening. If it was really bad I would
tell my Mom. Courtney

I think
that if Keisha knew that Maria were more safer about these things
then Jennifer and she knew that she was at Maria's house she should
not have called. If she cares about Maria. Anonymous
